Yorktown Heights Fr. John LaFarge Knights of Columbus Council 4012 has received the distinction of Star Council, the Knights of Columbus’ top award for local councils. Star Council recognizes overall excellence in membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities.
During the fraternal year 2025-26, Council 4012 has collected and delivered more than 15,000 pounds of food to local pantries; provided wheelchairs to those in need; participated in Yorktown community events such as Yorktown Cleanup Days and the San Gennaro Festival; donated funds to numerous charitable organizations, including Birthright and Make-A-Wish; participated in numerous Special Olympics events, including fundraising and the Polar Plunge; raised funds for student scholarships, including scholarships and donations to a local parish grammar school; and provided liturgical support, hospitality and special events for Catholic parishes in Yorktown.
The Knights achieve these results because of the dedication, faith and perseverance of their membership, guided by the founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.
