Kevin Madden, 53, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away far too young after a short and courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.
Kevin was born in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx to his Irish-born parents, Joe and Helen Madden. He was raised in Yorktown Heights, New York, and later made his home in American Canyon, California. Raised in the Catholic faith, Kevin remained deeply connected to his family, his roots, and the values of compassion and service to others.
A gifted software engineer, Kevin was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his intelligence, his many talents, and the love he had for those closest to him. Kevin also had a deep commitment to helping others. He quietly gave his time, guidance, and support to people facing some of life’s most difficult challenges, touching countless lives through his compassion, generosity, and willingness to be there for others.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Joe Madden. He is survived by his loving mother, Helen Madden; his beloved daughters, Kayla and Ashleigh; and his six siblings, Brendan (Anni), Joanie, Joe, Patrick (Krysta), Bernadette (Gerry), and John (Lisa), along with their families. He is also lovingly remembered by his 13 nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Kevin’s family is deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for the extraordinary care, compassion, and kindness they provided to Kevin throughout his difficult illness.
Kevin’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was taken too soon, and his memory will live on through his daughters, his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Kevin’s memory.
