Kathleen V. Paul ("Kathy") died at home in Bedford, NY at the age of 91 on December 9, 2024. Kathy was born and raised in Throggs Neck, NY. She graduated from Villa Maria Academy in the County Club section of the Northeast Bronx, and went on to graduate with a dual degree from Parsons School of Design and New York University in Fine Arts and English. In 1956, Kathy received her Masters Degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kathy taught Fine Art and English at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, and later started a Head Start program for pre-school children in the Bronx.
Kathy was a passionate painter. While raising a family Kathy joined the volunteer Westchester Medical Center Auxiliary. One of her most fulfilling accomplishments during her 30 years as an volunteer was painting nursery rhyme murals on the walls throughout the Westchester Medical Center Children's Wing. Kathy exhibited her paintings in art shows in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
Kathy was predeceased by her loving husband Robert ("Bob"), daughter Alison and grandson Joseph. She is survived by sons Andrew (Jessie), Robert (Diane), grandchildren Meaghan (Tom), Andrew (Magaly), William (Megan), Kathleen (Eric), Susan and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren Hudson and Harlow. Family and friends were invited to Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Directors on Thursday December 12, 2024, for visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday December 13, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Church 2 Green Street Mt. Kisco, NY 10549. Burial followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
