Joseph William Shane of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on February 10, 1940, in Mt. Kisco, NY. He was a Navy veteran who proudly served aboard the USS Essex aircraft carrier from 1958 to 1962. He was a diehard NY Yankees and NY Giants fan who also loved metal detecting and hitting golf balls up at the driving range.
Joe and Alba met when they were 16 years old and were married 5 years later on April 15th, 1961. Joe was an easy-going, hardworking man with a soft spoken manner and a quick sense of humor. He often worked more than one job while still making time to coach Little League and be a Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alba Claire Montalbano, his loving children, Gregory Joseph, Christopher Charles (Diana), Carla Marie and two grandchildren, Luke and Meg. Joseph will be forever missed beyond words. Services will be private.
