Jefferson Village culvert project advances

The Yorktown Town Board took steps to expedite a stormwater culvert replacement in Jefferson Village during it June 9 meeting.

The village’s engineer explained the need to replace an existing stormwater culvert and requested that the work be incorporated into an existing administrative general wetland permit.

Town officials said the board will amend the permit once Jefferson Village submits project plans to the town. Treating the work as an administrative matter is expected to streamline the approval process and avoid delays.

Councilwoman Susan Siegel, a resident of Jefferson Village, recused herself.
