The Garden Club of Yorktown is blooming in its 100th year.

Founded on Sept. 24, 1926, with a mission to promote gardening and civic beautification, the volunteer organization has helped Yorktown blossom with projects that spark a love of gardening.

It held its annual plant sale Saturday, May 9, at the Yorktown Green Shopping Center, offering residents a chance to stock up on seasonal greenery while supporting local beautification efforts.

Shoppers browsed a wide selection of native plants, perennials, annuals and hanging baskets, along with other garden offerings.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward ongoing beautification projects throughout Yorktown.
