PEEKSKILL, N.Y.—Holiday Bingo is underway in Yorktown.
The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce launched the campaign to encourage holiday shopping at local businesses across the region.
Residents can pick up a bingo card at participating businesses, the Chamber office, or online and complete prompts on each square. Activities include buying a gift at a local shop, grabbing a coffee or snack, making a donation to a local nonprofit, or attending a seasonal event.

Businesses stamp cards when participants complete in-person actions. For virtual prompts, participants can submit a screenshot or photo as proof. Completing four squares in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, allows participants to submit their cards to the Chamber for entry in their town’s raffle. Cards can be dropped off, mailed, or emailed to the Chamber.
“The goal of Holiday Bingo,” Carole Voisey, executive director of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, said in a Nov. 25 press release, is to make local shopping and everyday errands more festive.
“A purchase at a small business has so much more impact than buying from a giant corporation,” she said. “Every completed bingo square represents a real purchase and real support for our small businesses and nonprofits. It’s purchasing with purpose.”
