With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen P. Costello. She passed away at Northern Westchester Hospital on January 16, 2025. Born on May 4, 1933, in Yonkers, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Catherine and William Palmer. Helen was predeceased by her husband John ‘Jack’ Costello Jr. whom she married in June of 1954. They enjoyed many years together at Peach Lake; golfing, traveling and being with family and friends.

She was a loving mother to her four children, Cathleen (Eddie) Smith, Caren (Rick) Callaway, John Costello and James (Katrina) Costello. Helen is predeceased by her brothers William of Yonkers, NY and Robert of Florida. She was blessed to have had nine grandchildren plus fourteen great grandchildren.

Helen attended Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY, and established a career as a teacher’s aide in the North Salem School district. She then went on to become a court clerk for the Village of Brewster.

Helen walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with an unforgettable grace.
