Harold Thomas Magee, also known as Mick or Mickey to many, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born and raised in New York City, Harold remained deeply connected to the city and the community that shaped him. A United States Army veteran who proudly served his country in Vietnam, Harold went on to dedicate his life to serving and protecting others. He proudly served his community as a decorated member of the FDNY, where he spent the majority of his career at Ladder 127 on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. He later became a Registered Nurse, and although he only worked part-time for a few years, this allowed him to continue his commitment to caring for others. Harold also quietly gave his time and compassion to those seeking a path to a better life, offering friendship, guidance, and support to many along the way.

Beyond his many years of service, Harold found great joy in the simple things. He had a deep love for Ireland and was fortunate to own a second home there, a country that held a special place in his heart. Harold was also an avid reader and on any given day could often be found with a good book in hand. And he was never one to pass up a good nap!

Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Anne (Towey); his loving children, Erin (Mark) LaDuke, Brendan (Jennifer) Magee, and Meghan Magee; and his cherished grandson, Collin LaDuke. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Judy) Magee, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Florence (Bailey) Magee.

Service was a common thread throughout Harold’s life - to his country, his community, and the many people who came to rely on his kindness and counsel. He will be remembered for his courage, empathy, and willingness to help others. Harold will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Harold's name to the New York Firefighter's Burn Center Foundation. nyffburncenter.com
