Jerry Galante Sr., a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and veteran, who was a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, NY passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service, and love. He was to turn 80 years old in June.
Jerry was born in 1946, in Yonkers, NY to Nick and Louise Galante. He proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force as a mechanic. After his military service, he dedicated his career to his craft, becoming a highly respected master electrician whose skill and work ethic touched countless lives.
An avid fisherman, Jerry found peace and joy on the water and especially treasured the camping and scouting trips he took with his children, creating lifelong memories filled with laughter, adventure, and the beauty of the outdoors.
He is survived by Joanne Galante, to whom he was married for 25 years; his three children and their spouses: Jerry Galante and his wife Kathy, Jimmy Galante and his wife Stefanie, and Andrea Masse and her husband Michael; his seven beloved grandchildren: Tyler, Matthew, Kylie, Giovanni, Ariana, Ava, and Bryce; and his siblings: sisters Marilyn and Bobbi and brothers Nicky and Richard.
Jerry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to family, and the pride he took in a job well done. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
