Galante one of state’s best receivers

Posted

Yorktown’s Tyler Galante, who plays wide receiver, running back, and defensive back, is one of the Huskers’ three senior football captains, along with Michael Desiderio and Rocco Lore.

Last year Galante, who is in his third season on the varsity, was named All-League, All-Conference, All-Section, and third team All-State in a season that saw him register 11 touchdown receptions, which was a single-season school record. He also recorded 52 receptions and 720 receiving yards, both team highs in 2024.

Galante entered this season ranked No. 24 among wide receivers in New York state, according to Prep Redzone.

Defensively he made 29 total tackles, fourth among Yorktown returnees, including 20 solo tackles, a season ago.

He caught 4 passes for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns in Yorktown’s first win of the season, a 41-7 triumph at Lakeland on Sept. 26.

A multi-sport athlete, Galante will also play basketball this winter (after a year off last season) and then enter his third year of playing varsity baseball this upcoming spring as an outfielder.
