Eileen Charest, a lifelong Brewster, NY resident, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Carmel, NY at the age of 89.
Eileen was born December 5, 1935, at home in the Village of Brewster, daughter of the late William and Leah (Lanoue) Roach. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1953, then attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York, NY. On June 10, 1956, she married Robert Charest at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Eileen worked in the cafeteria at Brewster High School for many years, then worked for Ski Haus in Brewster. She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, St. Lawrence O’Toole Mothers Guild and the Southeast Seniors.
Besides her husband Robert, Eileen is survived by three children; Ricky Charest and his wife Jennifer of Southbury, CT, Debbie Gutierrez and her husband Tony of Gaithersburg, MD, Mark Charest and his wife Priscilla of Stewart, FL; grandchildren Jason, Robin, Nicholas and Cassandra; step grandchildren Amanda, Tony and Aaron; Great grandchildren Kaylee, Braydon, Nikola and Anneliese. She was predeceased by her son, Scott Charest, brother William Roach and sister Patricia Butler.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, followed by the interment in St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Calling hours will take place on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY from 3 to 6 p.m.
