Donald G. Ford, a lifelong resident of Mount Kisco, New York, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. He was 91 years old.

Don was born on March 26, 1934, to the late Grace and Alvah Ford. Don graduated from Mount Kisco High School in 1953. Shortly after, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 as part of the Presidential Honor Guard at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington D.C. This was a period of great pride for Don, and he often spoke fondly of his time in service.

Upon his return from the Army, Don embarked on a career at J.H. Crane & Son Furniture in Mount Kisco. His dedication and entrepreneurial spirit led him to eventually purchase and successfully run the business for many years, becoming a familiar and respected figure in the local community.

Family was paramount to Don. On July 23, 1955, he married the love of his life, Carol. Together, they built a loving home and raised two sons, Alan and Donald Gary Jr.

Don was predeceased by his son, Donald Gary Jr., in 2021, a loss he felt deeply.

Don was a devoted and lifelong member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Mount Kisco. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he served the church in numerous capacities, including Junior Warden, Senior Warden, and as a longtime Deacon. His commitment to his church community was unwavering.

Beyond his family and church, Don was a dedicated member of the American Legion Moses Taylor Jr. Post 136 in Mount Kisco.. He held various leadership positions within the post, including Commander, Treasurer, and Chairman. His commitment to his fellow veterans extended beyond the local level, as he also served as a Westchester County Commander.

Don is survived by his loving wife of nearly seventy years, Carol, and their son, Alan. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Nancy Ford; four grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. In addition, he leaves behind his sister-in-law, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home, located at 288 East Main Street in Mount Kisco, NY, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in Don's honor at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Mount Kisco, NY, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 10 a.m.

Following the Funeral Service, Don will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.

Don will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his unwavering faith, his commitment to his community, and his kind and generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished by all who knew him.
