Dog days of summer

Yorktown’s Junior Lake Pool went to the dogs earlier this month for a beloved annual event — a puppy pool party.

Residents brought their furry paddlers for a final dip before the town closed the pool at the end of the season.

Personnel from dog groomer Wipe Your Paws, which opened in Yorktown in March, handed out freebies and tennis balls to the dogs and their human companions.

Future guide dogs from Yorktown’s Guiding Eyes for the Blind kicked off the pool party before it opened to the public.

The town-favorite event once again proved to be a splashing success.
