Denise D’Andrea Boffi of Yorktown Heights, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Denise was born and raised in Mount Vernon, to the late Louis and Gabriella D’Andrea. She married the love of her life, Dario Boffi, in November1991 on Long Beach Island, N.J. They were blessed with a daughter, Danielle, who has followed her mother’s humanitarian focus. She also leaves behind her very sweet rescue dog, Ginger.
Denise attended Maria Regina High School and graduated Iona College summa cum laude. She went on to receive her master’s degree from the College of New Rochelle.
Denise taught special education in Mount Vernon for more than three decades, where she was known for her dedication to her students and her unwavering belief in giving a voice to those who needed it most. Her compassion extended far beyond the classroom, especially through her volunteer work with SPCA and her lifelong commitment to animal welfare.
Denise always thought about those around her and was a true friend to anyone who knew her. Though small in stature, Denise’s personality was enormous. Time spent with Denise was filled with laughter, joy and love.
