Daniel E. Moran, a long-time resident of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 94.
Mr. Moran was born in 1932, in Yonkers, NY, to Emmett and Julia Moran; he later graduated from Commerce High School, also in Yonkers.
Mr. Moran worked for Anchor Motor Freight in Tarrytown, NY, until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 445, in Tarrytown.
He served his country stateside in the Marine Reserve Corps from 1950 – 1952. In 1969, he married Jane Arden at Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers, NY.
Mr. Moran enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout his life and loved his Cadillac convertibles as a young man – and he always enjoyed the Winters in Florida! He was also a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Yorktown Heights.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane; his son Andy (Judy) Bloom of California, his son Chris (Darleen) of Mahopac, NY and his son Danny (Erin) of Yorktown Heights, NY; his grandchildren: Dave, Karin, Tatiana, Chris, Ashley, and Ava; and his great-grandchildren: Henry, Luke and James. Also surviving are his brother Tom Moran of White Plains, NY, his nephews Tommy and Mike Palmer; and his nieces Jennifer Palmer and Sue Chipolone.
Mr. Moran was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Phyllis.
