YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A 43-year-old Cortlandt Manor man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly used a hidden cellphone to record someone undressing in a bathroom, Yorktown police said Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Marco Vinicio Condo Barreto was arrested Aug. 8 in Peekskill, a few days after the incident was reported on Aug. 6. According to police, he allegedly set up the phone on Aug. 5 to secretly film the person without their knowledge, reportedly for sexual gratification. Yorktown police did not disclose the location of the incident.
Officers began investigating the next day and identified him as the suspect. He was located and arrested in Peekskill before being transferred to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.
Barreto was charged with second degree unlawful surveillance: sexual arousal, a Class E felony. After processing, he was handed over to Peekskill police for an unrelated arrest warrant.
Barreto is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 12.
No additional information about the person filmed was released.
