Running back and linebacker Tyler Caricati is in his third year on Yorktown’s varsity football team, being one of its senior captains, along with Jaden Renzo, Frank Ofrias, Eamon Coney, and Anthony Cappelli.
Through six games this season, Caricati has carried the ball 77 times, rushing for 603 yards and 10 touchdowns, both team highs. As a receiver, he’s registered 12 catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, he’s made 32 tackles, including a safety.
As a junior last fall, Caricati was named All-League and All-Conference, and in his sophomore campaign earned All-League recognition.
Caricati is also a member of the Huskers’ varsity wrestling squad. This upcoming winter will be his sixth year with the team.
Last season, at 175 pounds, he garnered All-League, All-Section and All-State recognition. His efforts helped Yorktown win its first wrestling sectional championship, scoring 218 points to outdistance second-place Tappan Zee (189) and third-place Mahopac (179) at the Section 1 Division 1 Tournament at the Westchester County Center.
A man truly for all seasons, when wrestling is over Caricati will participate on Yorktown’s varsity boys lacrosse squad for a third season. The team is coming off an appearance in the New York State Class B Final Four.
