Yorktown honors Alison Bergman’s volunteer service

Alison Bergman was recognized by the Yorktown Town Board for her leadership and volunteer service.

As the founder of the area’s “Operation Cookie Drop,” a volunteer-led effort to send donated cookies to troops overseas, in hospitals and in veterans’ homes, Bergman has made a lasting impact.

Now in its 25th season, Operation Cookie Drop has delivered more than 1 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies.

The certificate presented to Bergman at the April 28 Town Board meeting called her “an instrumental contributor to numerous Service Unit Veterans Day events, deliveries and service initiatives. Her commitment to honoring and supporting veterans is deeply valued.”
