Barbara Ann Lent was born in the spring of 1940 in Yonkers, NY, and passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Somers, NY. She was 85 years old.
Those who knew Barbara knew her as someone who lit up a room. She had a quick wit, a warm laugh, and an outlook on life that stayed bright no matter what came her way. She was the kind of person who made everyone around her feel better just for having been in her presence.
Barbara graduated from Sacred Heart High School and went on to build a respected career in accounting, serving as an Accounting Manager at Polychrome Corp. and later at Tourneau. She brought the same sharpness and dedication to her work that she brought to everything she did.
Her faith was central to who she was. A devoted Christian, Barbara lived her beliefs through her kindness, her generosity, and her love for others. She took to heart the words of Ephesians 4:29 — "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, that it may give grace to those who hear" — and truly lived by them. Barbara had a gift for speaking life and encouragement into the people around her, always choosing words that lifted rather than tore down.
In her free time, Barbara was happiest when she was creating something. She loved arts and crafts, drawing, needlepoint, and making holiday ornaments — hobbies that brought her genuine joy and gave her a way to share that joy with others.
But nothing meant more to Barbara than her family. She is survived by her children, Robert, Deborah and Robert Larson, David and Elizabeth (Rosado), and Lori and John Jacobs. She was a proud grandmother to Daniel Larson, Ryan Faith (Larson) and Douglas Del Bene, Jonathan and Michelle Lent, and Caleigh and Alexandra Jacobs, and a beloved great-grandmother to Francesca Grace Del Bene. She is also survived by her cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara's humor, intelligence, and warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a family that will carry her light forward.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
