Yorktown Police Department earns reaccreditation

Posted

Chief Justin Foley and Capt. Mark Rapisarda traveled to Albany on Sept. 10 to be formally recognized for the Yorktown Police Department’s reaccreditation.

Accreditation is a voluntary process in which the department meets established professional standards set by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. It involves reviewing and improving agency policies, procedures, training, operations and accountability to ensure the department follows recognized best practices.

Accreditation helps promote professionalism, consistency, transparency and public trust while maintaining high standards of police service.

The Yorktown Police Department has been an accredited agency since 1994.
