Yorktown Parks & Rec. taking applications for summer camp jobs

YORKTOWN, N.Y.—The Town of Yorktown is hiring for various summer day camp programs, including half-day, full-day, and travel camp. Campers will participate in activities like art, sports, nature, music, dance, and special events, all made possible by our camp staff. Positions include directors, specialists, and counselors, who are responsible for ensuring daily activities run smoothly and provide a positive experience for the campers.

The town will accept applications until the job closing date of  Friday, May 9, 2025, 4:30 p.m.

Those joining the team should complete the attached application packet and submit it to the Recreation Department at Rooms 122 and 123 of the Albert A. Capellini Community and Cultural Center.

Eligibility requirements

• Half-day & full-day camp applicants: Must be at least 16 years old by June 30, 2025.
• Travel camp applicants: Must be at least 18 years old and/or a high school graduate by July 7, 2025.
• Volunteer - counselor-in-training (CIT) applicants: Must be 15 years old by June 30, 2025.

Application deadline: Friday, May 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

Program dates and hours for staff

• Half-day program:
  Dates: June 30, 2025 – Aug. 1, 2025
  Hours: 8 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
• Full-day program:
  Dates: June 30, 2025 – Aug. 1, 2025
  Hours: 8 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
• Travel camp program:
  Dates: Monday to Thursday, July 7, 2025 – July 31, 2025
  Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. (times may vary based on trip schedule)
• Extended day camp program:
  Dates: Same as full-day camp
  Hours: 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

To be considered for a camp staff position, applications must be received by the May 9 deadline.
