A 43-year-old Yorktown man is accused of throwing car keys and a cellphone and grabbing a victim during a domestic dispute earlier this month, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Police said the incident was reported June 12 at about 2:44 p.m. when a walk-in complaint about a past domestic incident was made at police headquarters. Officer DiNotte met with the victim and investigated.

Investigators said that during an argument at a Yorktown residence, the man threw car keys that grazed the victim, grabbed the victim’s wrist and caused pain and a small cut, and then threw a cellphone that struck the victim in the chest, leaving an abrasion.

Police said the man later called authorities and turned himself in at headquarters.

The man was charged with attempted assault in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor.

He was arraigned before Judge Raniolo, who issued a temporary order of protection. A separate Family Court order of protection was also served.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on July 7 at 6 p.m.
