Police said a 63-year-old Yorktown man allegedly struck a woman multiple times in the face and stomach during a physical altercation at a Yorktown residence Oct. 3, causing physical injury.
According to Yorktown police, officers responded to the residence at about 8:47 p.m. after the woman reported that she had been assaulted. An investigation determined that the man, identified as Anthony Dilworth, allegedly struck the woman during the altercation.
Dilworth was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor.
He was taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing and later arraigned before Judge Marra. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the woman, police said.
Dilworth was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court at 6 p.m. Oct. 6.
