YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Father Christmas and his reindeer will be logging frequent flier miles this month as Santa takes a break from fine-tuning his Christmas delivery logistics to visit Yorktown kids at Lions Club events.
On Sunday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., families can enjoy making their own pizzas and visiting Santa at “Pizza with Santa” at the Yorktown Pizza and Pasta.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, Father Christmas will be back in town for Cocoa with Santa at the Grace Lutheran Church (3830 Gomer St.) from 9:15 a.m. (“Sensitive Santa” session) to 2:45 p.m.
All money raised will be donated to the Yorktown Lions Club, which returns all proceeds to the community. To reserve a time slot, visit yorktownlionsclub.com.
While Santa may be the focus for kids, Yorktown Lions are giving elves a chance to step into the spotlight by offering personalized “Elf Grams”—delivered by live (human) elves—which can be sent to friends, co-workers, or business clients from now through Dec. 23.
The elf’s visit requires a minimum donation of $25. To book your “Elf on a Shelf Visit” or “Elf Gram" email yorktownlionsclub@gmail.com
The Yorktown Lions are inviting parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, God-parents, and friends to have the Lions send a personalized “Letter to Santa” to that special someone. In addition to giving children the thrill of receiving a letter from Santa, the program raises money to fight childhood cancer.
The cost is $8 per letter or $15 for two distinct letters. The deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Letters can be ordered at the Yorktown Lions’ website: yorktownlionsclub.com.
All proceeds benefit Childhood Together for Pediatric Cancer, American Cancer Society.
