A Fourth of July storm that slammed Yorktown dumped more than 6 inches of rain, knocked out power to more than 1,800 customers and brought down countless trees. Many residents spent days without electricity but praised town officials, police and highway crews for their response and efforts to restore services.
VFW Post 8328 Commander Alex Mandara told Yorktown News that residents without power or Wi-Fi, or anyone in need of a cold drink, can call him at (914) 497-8185 for assistance.
Yorktown News is continuing to track the storm’s impact. Residents with storm photos, updates or experiences to share can email yorktownnews@halstonmedia.com.
