YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Yorktown's 13th Annual Holiday Electric Lights Parade and Tree Lighting will be held on Dec. 7 in Yorktown Heights, to be followed by the Shrub Oak Tree Lighting a week later.
The Dec. 7 Yorktown Heights parade will step off at 6 p.m. from Front Street, turning onto Underhill Avenue, then right onto Commerce Street. The parade will continue toward the Firehouse, turning left onto Commerce Street and right onto Veterans Road, ending at Jack DeVito Veteran Memorial Field and Track.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. following the parade. This community tradition features festive lights, music, and a celebration of the holiday season, and a visit from Santa.
A week later (Saturday, Dec. 14), celebrants will gather in front of John C. Hart Memorial Library at Tom Diana Memorial Highway (East Main Street) in Shrub Oak for a tree lighting set to begin at 6:30 p.m., a tradition started by former Supervisor Tom Diana, who passed away earlier this year. The rain date is Dec. 21.
