Things to Do

The Mahopac Street Festival returns this weekend

Posted

MAHOPAC, N.Y.—Mahopac's annual Fall Street is back. Sponsored by the Greater Mahoac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, the event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Chamber Park (intersection of Route 6 and 6N).

This year's fair coincides with the return of the Putnam Columbus Day Parade, which will march to Chamber Park as part of the festivities:

In a letter to the community for Mahopac News' special insert published on Sept. 25, Chamber Chairwoman Christine Picone welcomed visitors to what has become a Mahopac fall tradition:

Mahopac Street Festival Returns: Food, Fun, and Community Spirit

One of Mahopac’s most cherished traditions is back — bringing delicious food, family fun, and hometown pride to the heart of our community.

This fall, the Mahopac Street Festival, hosted by the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, will once again fill downtown Mahopac with a full day of music, shopping, food, and entertainment for all ages. Year after year, the festival transforms our town center into a lively celebration of local culture and community spirit.

Thousands of residents and visitors look forward to this beloved event, which truly offers something for everyone — from children’s activities and live performances to handmade goods from local artisans, mouthwatering food vendors, and small businesses proudly sharing their best.

The Mahopac Street Festival has become a cornerstone of our community calendar, not only for its festive atmosphere but also for the way it uplifts local businesses and strengthens our small-town pride. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the area, this is the perfect chance to experience the heart of Mahopac: its people, its talent, and its unmistakable charm.

The Columbus Day Parade Returns

I am especially excited to announce that the Columbus Day Parade is back after a five-year hiatus! The Italian-American Club of Mahopac will proudly march down Route 6 and into the fair at the Crossroads of Mahopac, adding even more tradition, heritage, and excitement to an already unforgettable day.

A Heartfelt Thank You

This incredible event would not be possible without the tireless dedication of our volunteers and community partners. A very special thank you goes to Stephanie Bellofatto, James Pfeifer, John Tsantakis, Scott Centofonti, Geovanna Lacerra, and Tom Courtney for their invaluable efforts. We also extend our gratitude to the Carmel Police Department, Carmel Town Parks and Recreation, Carmel Highway Department, and Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department for helping ensure a safe and successful festival.

Join Us!

Mark your calendars and bring the whole family for a day full of laughter, discovery, and community connection. The Mahopac Street Festival is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of everything that makes Mahopac home.

Hope to see you there!

Christine
