PATTERSON, N.Y. - The Rotary Club of Patterson, NY, and Guardian Revival, Inc. will host the second annual Women Veterans Recognition Brunch on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Centennial Golf Club to honor local women veterans and their service. This year’s theme, “Your Story, My Story, Our Story: Thriving Beyond the Uniform,” highlights the transition from military to civilian life and celebrates the unique strengths of women who serve.
The event will feature brunch by Ledley Catering, an all-female ROTC Color Guard, keynote from a representative of Women Veterans Health Care, and a panel discussion and audience Q&A moderated by Megan Castellano, Program Director of the Joseph P. Dwyer Vet2Vet Program.
“The Rotary Club of Patterson had a vision, before the COVID-19 pandemic, to celebrate our local Women Veterans and were told there weren’t any,” Megan Castellano from Guardian Revival, Inc. notes. “We had over 80 guests for our debut event last year, nearly a third of whom are women Veterans. Our goal this year is 100 guests and to fill half the room, or more with local women Veterans, many of whom are often overlooked, despite serving, and sacrificing, with honor in protection of our freedom.”
Panelists will include Kate Durkins (Air Force), Sharone Fuller (Navy), and Breezy Grenier (Coast Guard). Topics will cover identity and transition, career and finances, community impact, and mental and physical wellness after service.
Admission is complimentary for women veterans; $50 general, $25 for other veterans. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Centennial Golf Club in Carmel.
RSVP at pattersonrotary.org/events.
The brunch aims to spotlight women veterans—often overlooked despite growing in numbers nationwide—and foster community, mentorship, and recognition for their service.
Proceeds will support local women veterans’ organizations.
