Yorktown police arrested a 45-year-old White Plains resident on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child, both Class A misdemeanors.
On May 17 at about 1:16 p.m., the Yorktown Police Department received a report of a past domestic dispute. An officer responded and conducted an investigation at the scene.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, reported that he had a verbal argument with his father, identified by police as Rafael Pimentel. The boy said the argument became physical when his father allegedly put his hand around his neck and squeezed, police said.
The defendant was arrested on scene and transported to Yorktown police headquarters for processing.
After processing, the defendant was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court, and a temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, May 28 at 6 p.m.
