Community walks for breast and gynecological cancer awareness

For 30 years, Support Connection has provided free peer counseling, support groups and other resources to people affected by breast, ovarian and other gynecological cancers. The Yorktown Heights-based nonprofit marked its 30th anniversary Sept. 10 at The Briarcliff Manor before bringing its mission to the community Sunday with its annual Support-A-Walk at FDR State Park.

The annual event drew participants to FDR State Park for a day centered on connection, awareness and community. Support Connection serves people nationwide, and the organization encourages individuals to take part in the walk wherever they are located.
