MAHOPAC, N.Y.—The Lake Mahopac Rotary's annual Rock & Roll Spectacular oldies returned to Mahopac High School on Saturday night (May 9), and it was a blast for all involved.
Fans of classic harmony and timeless hits were treated to an unforgettable evening as The Duprees, The Brooklyn Bridge, and Anthony Duke Claus took the stage for a night of music that spanned generations.
The Duprees, known for their smooth vocals and romantic ballads, brought nostalgia to life with beloved hits like “You Belong to Me” and “Have You Heard.” Their signature blend of doo-wop and pop continues to captivate audiences decades after their debut.
Also on the bill was The Brooklyn Bridge, the iconic group whose chart-topping single “The Worst That Could Happen” remains a staple of oldies radio. The band’s tight harmonies and soulful delivery transported the crowd back to the golden era of rock & roll.
Rising vocalist Anthony Duke Claus delivered classic pop with modern flair. His dynamic performance bridged the gap between past and present, setting the tone for an evening of musical celebration.
Attendees got into the act, dancing in the aisles at the MHS auditorium.
The Lake Mahopac Rotary Club thanked sponsors Tompkins Community Bank, PCSB Community Foundation, Burke Energy, Perrone Family Chiropractic, Dwyer Agency, Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Mahopac Teachers' Association, MacDonald Marine, Mahopac News, Arthur Avenue Deli, Oldies 98.9 FM - WGNY, d'Berto's Pizzeria & Family Restaurant and Route 6 Deli.
