Victoria R. Marmora passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, in the presence of family. She is survived by her children Paul (Bonnie), Veronica (Michael) and Christina (Scott), and grandchildren Renata (Drew), Zachary, Alex, Max, Luke, and Jared. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis, sons Mark and Stephen, sister Gabriella Ryan, and brother Michelangelo Rossetto.

Victoria Fortunata Rossetto was born on August 30, 1934 in Oyster Bay, NY to Joseph and Santina (Manganaro) Rossetto. She always loved the beach—even skipping school to go for a swim. After attending St. Dominic’s in Oyster Bay, Victoria earned her BA from the College of New Rochelle. While attending an intensive summer program at Middlebury College she met Louis and married, settling in Mamaroneck, NY to raise their family. As a masterful gardener and talented cook, Vicky could make a gourmet meal out of anything. Welcoming family and friends from around the world, she created delectable meals often fresh from her garden, while showcasing her lovely flowers.

Victoria loved to travel, visiting all 50 states and many countries around the world. As a family, they spent an 18-month sabbatical in Madrid, Spain, traveled throughout Europe, and spent a summer driving cross country with all five kids (plus the dog!) in their VW bus.

Later, Victoria decided to pursue a career in education, earning her MA from Adelphi University. She was an educator through and through, teaching French, Spanish, and Italian, at Ursuline High School, Concordia College, and finally at Rye Neck High School. She retired in 1989 to complete her PhD in French Literature at City University of New York.

A dedicated music lover, Victoria played piano and cello. Classical station WQXR was always playing in her home. She was a proud subscriber to the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, and Stamford Symphony, and was a long-time supporter of museums, zoos, and botanical gardens. She sponsored many children, and supported charities for education, the arts, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Victoria was a resident of Artis Senior Living of Somers for the last four years. The family is deeply grateful for the care and loving interactions of the resident staff who provided a stimulating and supportive environment that allowed Victoria to flourish and enjoy her many hobbies. Victoria was a wonderful, loving person and she will be greatly missed.

We will gather to celebrate her life with a service and reception on October 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 40 Ganung Dr., Ossining, NY.
