Two motorists were arrested in separate incidents last week after Yorktown police determined they were allegedly driving with suspended licenses, authorities said.

In the first case, William E. Dalferes, 27, of Peekskill, was charged March 17 following a rollover crash on Lake Road. Police said officers responded around 7:24 a.m. to find an unoccupied vehicle off the roadway. Dalferes later returned to the scene and was identified as the alleged driver. A records check showed his driving privileges were suspended in New York, police said.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, along with several traffic violations, including leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 31.

In a separate incident, Ruth Magali Macas Abrigo, 39, of Hampton Bays, was arrested March 18 after a traffic stop on Crompond Road near Route 132. Police said an officer observed a vehicle being operated with a defective headlamp at about 3:05 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that both the driver’s license and vehicle registration were allegedly suspended, police said. Abrigo was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operatio and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, along with multiple traffic violations.

She was also released on her own recognizance and is due in Yorktown Justice Court on April 7.
