SOMERS, N.Y. - Rainy conditions made for a busy day for members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.
On Sunday, May 4, the SVFD responded to three motor vehicle accidents, one of which was a rollover that required an extraction.
The most serious crash happened just before 7 p.m., when fire and EMS units were called to Lake Road near Orchard Hill Road and Lakewood Drive. Responders found a single car rolled over, blocking both lanes of the street.
Members of the SVFD worked to extract the patient from the vehicle, working at the scene for more than an hour.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from the Somers Police Department and New York State Police.
