Thomas J. Kearins, Sr., a long-time resident of Yorktown Heights, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 93.
He was born in Sligo, Ireland in 1933, to Michael and Teresa Kearins, and later served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957.
Mr. Kearins worked as a bus mechanic for the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority until his retirement in 1983. He was also a friend of Bill W.
Mr. Kearins is survived by his sons: Thomas J. (Colleen) Kearins and Eric (Mary) Kearins; his grandchildren: Claire (David), Kelly Ann and Thomas R.; and his great-grandchildren: Logan, Liv and Lennon. Also surviving are his siblings: Michael, Christy, Rose, Leo and Teresa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ellen (Nellie), his son Paul and his siblings: Angela, James, Raymond, Ann, John and Anthony.
