A CELLO SHOW OF PEACE, LOVE, AND MUSIC
To be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 at Somers Library. Building from his existing electrifying rock ’n roll cello programs, such as his popular British Invasion show, Alex Prizgintas is preparing his latest electric cello show to resonate at the heart of the Hudson Valley's rich cultural history. Accompanied by a narration that reveals some of the back stories of baroque, jazz, folk, and Rock n’ Roll classics, he immerses his audience in a journey through musical history.

Led by Dobro player, songwriter and vocalist Cole Quest - grandson of folk Icon Woody Guthrie - the band has carved out a singular place in today's roots music landscape. blending the storytelling spirit of folk with the drive and Precision of bluegrass music.

MILITARY VETERAN BANNER PROJECT
The Somers Veterans Committee is inviting local veterans to be honored through a community-wide banner project that will recognize their service and sacrifice.
Military veterans who reside in Somers are eligible to apply for a personalized banner highlighting their individual military history. The banners will be displayed on telephone poles along roadways throughout town, offering residents a visible and lasting tribute to those who have served.
The initiative provides an opportunity for the community to celebrate its veterans in a meaningful and public way, ensuring their contributions are acknowledged and remembered.
