Yorktown's calendar is packed with community events and municipal meetings this week, from Mohegan Lake Day festivities and live music to a memorial golf outing, an outdoor movie and opportunities for residents to dispose of paint and bulky household items. Here's what's happening July 10-17.

Mohegan Lake Day

Set for July 11, with a rain date of July 12, Lake Mohegan Lake Day is a free event sponsored by the Mohegan Lake Improvement District. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Lake Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness on our Nation’s 250th Anniversary.” A water taxi will transport attendees between beaches.

The day opens with a kids’ fishing derby from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Mohegan Beach Park, followed by kids’ games at Mohegan Highlands and a Revolutionary War storytime with Lynn Briggs at noon. Afternoon activities include a 1:15 p.m. bagpipe and drum march, crafts, face painting, "Art on the Lake," lawn games at 3 p.m. and a wildlife program at 4 p.m. Evening events begin at 5 p.m. with food from the Super Nacho food truck, followed by a square and contra dance, a kids’ poster contest, a performance at 7:30 p.m. by the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and concluding with floating lanterns on the lake and a screening of Episode 5 of a documentary on the Peekskill riots with a Q&A at 8:45 p.m.

K-Pop Demon Hunters Anniversary Show

Tayla Rees will perform as Rumi during a one-year anniversary concert celebrating “K-Pop Demon Hunters” at 3 p.m. July 11 at Creation Station in Jefferson Valley Mall, 650 Lee Blvd. The event will take place on the mall's lower level near the escalators. Sean Patrick Murphy Golf Outing

Friends of Yorktown Parks and Recreation will host the second annual Sean Patrick Murphy Memorial Golf Outing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 at The Links at Valley Field. For more information, contact Bob Giordano at rgiord19@optonline.net or 914-874-4347.

Bulk Trash Collection

Bulk Trash collection is only for bulky household items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, rugs, lamps, curtains & blinds, bicycles and bags of small items. Section 4 will be collected Monday, July 13,

Yorktown Lions Club Summer Concert Series

The Yorktown Lions Club will host its 31st annual Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m. Sundays at Jack DeVito Field Veterans Plaza, 1974 Commerce St. The free, family-friendly series features live music in the park and is held rain or shine. Upcoming performances include Danny V’s 52nd Street Band on July 12.

Town Board Work Session

Tuesday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Yorktown Town Hall. Sessions are open to the public.

Veterans Advisory Committee

This meeting is Wednesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. at Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce St. in Room 104.

Hilltop Hanover Farm & Environmental Center

Farm-to-Fable, 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16.

Ages 3 to 6 will explore the whimsy of the world around them through combining storytelling with hands-on activities on the farm straight from the tale. Pay what you want. Click here to register.

Garden Pests: Identification & Management Strategies, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Learn how to safely and effectively deal with common pest problems within your home garden in this beginner-friendly class. Participants will learn how to identify the most common garden pests and how to develop a strategy for managing these uninvited guests. Leave with a better understanding of how to be proactive in the garden and the basics of what, when and how to use organic sprays. $5. Click here to register.

Farm Stand, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays

Browse a range of seasonal offerings, including tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, squash and leafy greens. The farm stand operates Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Thanksgiving.

Paint Drop Off Day

Drop off materials on Friday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the police department.

Outdoor Movie

A screening of “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants” will be held at 7 p.m. at Jack Devito Field Veterans Plaza on Friday, July 17.
