Continue the nation’s 250th celebration and other fun activities in Yorktown this week.
Residents can drop off paint from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, outside the police department.
Sportime Pickleball Yorktown will host the Northern Westchester Open Tournament from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at 355 Downing Drive. The tournament is open to players of all skill levels. A fireworks display will follow the Yorktown Lions Concert on Aug. 23 at approximately 8:30 or 9 p.m. at Jack DeVito Field Veterans Plaza.
The town signed an agreement with Garden State Fireworks to provide the display at a cost not to exceed $9,500. Deputy Supervisor Sergio Esposito said the fireworks will serve as the conclusion to the summer concert series while also recognizing the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The display will cap the evening’s festivities at Veterans Plaza, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to gather for a public celebration tied to the town’s yearlong semiquincentennial commemoration.
Yorktown's bulk trash collection is available for bulky household items, including furniture, mattresses, appliances, rugs, lamps, curtains and blinds, bicycles, and bags of small items. Collection for Section 3 is Monday, Aug. 24.
The American Red Cross (ARC) and the New York Blood Center (NYBC) report a critical need for blood donations.

Farm Stand, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Browse a range of seasonal offerings, including tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, squash and leafy greens.
