SOMERS, N.Y. - A South Salem man is facing multiple charges after a rash of threatening behavior, including allegedly menacing a former neighbor and driving his car across the man’s lawn.
On Monday, May 26, State Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in Somers. A homeowner claimed that he had observed a vehicle doing donuts on his front lawn, identifying the driver as Vincent G. D’Agnese, 33, of South Salem.
According to police, the homeowner then followed the vehicle and attempted to approach D’Agnese, who exited his car while yelling and brandishing a “long black object.”
D’Agnese, a former neighbor of the homeowner, would reportedly return to the homeowner’s property later that day to threaten him with a piece of metal.
The following day, police received another report regarding D’Agnese, this time alleging that he had sent threatening messages to a Somers business owner over LinkedIn.
On May 28, a third individual contacted authorities after receiving threatening messages from D’Agnese on Instagram.
The victim claimed that they had not communicated since high school in 2009.
Based on the nature of the messages, both the second and third victims claimed that they feared for their safety.
After an investigation, D’Agnese was arrested on Thursday, May 29, by the Somers Bureau of Criminal Investigation and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (Class D felony), Menacing 2nd degree (Class A misdemeanor), Three counts of Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (Class A Misdemeanor).
He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000 cash, $75,000 bond, or $125,000 partially secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
