‘Sound of Music’ opens at Yorktown Stage on March 1

YORKTOWN, N.Y. —Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti… go get your tickets! 

“The Sound of Music” is coming to Yorktown Stage, bringing the classic story and beloved songs to life. The production will open on March 1. 

“The Sound of Music” tells the inspiring tale of Maria, a spirited young woman who brings joy, music, and love into the lives of Captain Von Trapp and his seven children in pre-World War II Austria. This professionally produced Broadway musical features a talented cast delivering unforgettable performances of iconic songs such as "Do-Re-Mi," "The Sound of Music," "Lonely Goatherd," and “Edelweiss.”

“The Yorktown Stage is a true gem for our community," Supervisor Ed Lachterman said in a Feb. 27 release from the town. “It provides top-notch entertainment for residents of all ages, while also fostering a love of musical theater in our youth.” 

Lachterman added that he's "proud to support the Yorktown Stage and its mission to bring quality arts and culture to Yorktown."

  • Saturday matinees: March 1 and 8 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

  • Sunday matinees: March 2 and 9 at 1 p.m.

  • Friday evening: March 7 at 7 p.m.
