WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - A pair of local retailers recently sold tickets worth big bucks.

The New York Lottery’s Erie Canal bicentennial raffle, held on Oct. 26, produced several winners in Westchester.

A ticket purchased at Lincolndale Wine & Liquor on US-202 in Somers won the game’s $1 million top prize, while a ticket sold at 7-Eleven on Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights claimed a $25,000 prize.

Statewide, the drawing resulted in 5,505 winning tickets, with 45 top-tier winners taking home the largest prizes. Fifteen of these top prize tickets, each worth $1 million, were sold at participating retail locations, which will receive $5,000 each for selling a winning ticket.

The Erie Canal-themed raffle drew excitement for both its generous prizes and its celebration of New York history, marking the bicentennial of the Erie Canal. For those in Westchester, the results proved that a little luck at a local retailer can turn into a life-changing win.
