SOMERS, N.Y. – Burglars hit several small businesses in Somers this past weekend, according to information obtained by Halston Media.

State police were unable to confirm the reported break-ins on Wednesday or provide any details because of concerns about possibly compromising their investigation, according to a public information officer.

However, word had already gotten out in the community. Local police were aware of the situation, as were town officials.

According to its blotter, state police had received a call around 7:55 a.m. on Monday, March 10, about a burglary. The entry did not specify a location, but noted that an investigation was pending.

Halston Media contacted three of the four places that had reportedly been broken into: Slice Pizza at the Heritage 202 Center on Route 202; and Sunrise Diner and Sal’s Pizza and Pasta, both located on Route 202 in Lincolndale in the Village Plaza Shopping Center.

All confirmed that they had been targeted. The fourth business could not be reached because its phone number was “not in service,” according to Verizon.
