Ruth Guarino was born on June 4th, 1938 in the Bronx, to Salvatore and Mary Carlino. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and went to work as a stenographer for the Federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in NYC.

Ruth had a sister, Ann who died from breast cancer at age 48, leaving behind 3 sons, Bobby, Roy and Charlie. Ruth met her husband Mario when he returned home from the army. He was the brother of her friend Marion. They married after dating for only three months and stayed together for 64 years, eventually moving to their first house in New Rochelle.

Ruth and Mario had four daughters, Theresa (Kenny) Tabankin, Linda (Dave) Victurine, Patricia (Tim) Daniel and Josephine Soreco. Nine Grandchildren, Danielle (Nicholas) Visconti, Amanda (Marc) DeRubeis, Stella Daniel, Mia Daniel, Michael Victurine, Matthew Victurine, Joseph Soreco, Gabrielle Soreco, and Nicole Soreco. They were also blessed with three great grandchildren, Adrian and Brooke Visconti and Jade DeRubeis.

For most of her life Ruth was a stay at home mom and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling on many trips with her husband, reading her library books and the National Enquirer, and listening to 50’s Doo Wop music or Talk Radio. At the end of her life, Ruth suffered from Dementia and lived at Bayberry Nursing Home. The staff there loved her and always greeted her with the biggest smile!

Mario passed about a year ago, and our biggest consolation is that he was waiting for her impatiently, The first thing he probably did was ask her to make him a cup of coffee!
