Yorktown police arrested a 39-year-old Putnam Valley man last month after officers found him allegedly passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped on Route 132.
Police said Officer Guillermo Lizarzaburu responded to the area around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 20 after receiving a report of a vehicle “stopped in the roadway with its operator passed out at that wheel.” The driver, identified as Jose M.F. Condo Barreto, was found to be allegedly intoxicated.
The man was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters, where police determined he allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher and stopping, standing or parking on a public highway. He was issued traffic tickets and released to a responsible third party.
Condo Barreto is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m.
