Putnam County clerk swears in 31 new U.S. citizens

CARMEL, N.Y. — Putnam County Clerk Michael Bartolotti hosted a naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, March 26, at the Putnam County Historic Courthouse.

Bartolotti administered the Oath of Allegiance to 31 new citizens from 24 countries.

Justice Joseph Spofford Jr. served as the officiating judge and offered court remarks. Rabbi Sarah Freidson led the prayer and County Executive Kevin Byrne gave the welcoming remarks. 

Fredrick Wennberg from VFW Post 5491 in Mahopac led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and District Attorney Robert Tendy sang a rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Pictures from the ceremony can be found on our website at putnamcountyny.com/county-clerk.

Those who took the Oath and became American citizens came from the following countries:
