SOMERS, N.Y. - The community got into the spirit of the season at the Town of Somers Holiday Celebration at The Elephant Hotel, a National Historic Landmark decorated by the Somers Historical Society!
Residents gathered on Sunday, Dec. 8. for the Nativity Scene dedication and blessing, sponsored by The Msgr. Raymond M. Collins Council 6205 of the Knights of Columbus, and photos with Santa, holiday music, hot cocoa and sing-along sponsored by Somers Lions Club, Somers Historical Society and Somers Chamber of Commerce. The day was capped off with the lighting of the Somers Christmas Tree.
On Thursday, Dec. 26 at 6 p.m., Somers will hold the annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony on the front lawn of The Elephant Hotel, sponsored by Chabad of Yorktown. A celebration will follow in the meeting room, and there will also be an Open House at the Somers Historical Society on the 3rd floor.
