The 2026 National Night Out in Mount Kisco brought first responders and residents together for family-friendly fun and community building.
The annual event took place at Pinecrest Manor Apartments on Aug. 6.
Participating were members of the Westchester County Police Department, the Mount Kisco Independent Fire Company, and EMS; village and county officials, and representatives of local groups such as Neighbor’s Link and The Pantry. Northern Westchester Hospital/Northwell Health and the village's Recreation Department were also there.
National Night Out, started in 1984 by Matt Peskin in suburban Philadelphia, aims to foster positive, everyday interactions between residents and local law enforcement.
The events also provide a venue for sharing safety tips and increasing awareness of anti-crime programs. They also encourage neighbors to get outside, talk, and get to know one another.
