Phoebe Susan (Harnett) Burstein died peacefully in her sleep after a battle with cancer on September 30, 2026 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco New York.

Phoebe was a beloved member of the Westchester community. She loved healthy living. Organized, neat, and artistic, she created beautiful living spaces for family and friends. She loved preparing and sharing meals, and finding treasures that added quality to her fashion sense and home.

Phoebe was an outstanding teacher immersing her students in a classroom filled with storytelling and love of learning. Her ability to connect with students and families was extraordinary and she was extremely well regarded in her field.

Born April 11, 1961, and raised in Queens New York, Phoebe loved her family fiercely. Her sense of humor and razor sharp wit were a gift to friends, family, and colleagues alike.

Phoebe was an incredible wife, fierce mother, devoted daughter, and wonderful sister. She leaves behind her husband Neil, son Max, sister Gena Gallinger, parents Sandra Wohlberg, Joseph Harnett and step parents Cliff Wohlberg and Elaine Harnett. She is now with her predeceased brother Matthew.

Family and friends gathered at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah on Sunday October 4, 2026.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Weil Cornell Hematology Oncology in Phoebe's name.
