Patricia Rudd Bensburg died peacefully at home on January 13, 2026. She was 92.

Pat was born to Frank and Ethel Rudd on November 28, 1933 in Manhattan. She grew up on the East Side, was a proud graduate of Hunter College, and became a NYC school teacher. In 1958, Pat married William H. Bensburg at St. Monica’s Church in NYC. They moved to Bronxville to raise their three sons, William and twins Robert and Richard. Pat taught business administration at St. Raymond’s Academy in the Bronx, then went on to become a New York State Tax Compliance Agent. In 2007, Patricia moved to Mahopac NY to be closer to her grandchildren.

Pat was an active member of the Yonkers Democratic Party, where she was a District Leader, became Leader of the 11th Ward, and ran for City Council. She was a member of the Aquehung Women’s Democratic Club for decades, where she assisted many Yonkers candidates and was honored for her lifetime of service.

Pat loved coffee, scoring a deal while shopping, and her cats. One of her favorite leisure activities was visiting the beach. She would often go to the Jersey shore with her sons and grandchildren. Patricia also enjoyed travel and photography.

Patricia is survived by her two sons and their wives: William and Victoria Bensburg, and Robert and Gerda Bensburg, as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Cynthia, Robert, and Katherine. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Rudd McCann. Patricia was predeceased by her husband William and their son Richard.

Those who knew her will fondly remember her wit and intelligence. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, living on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
